It has been a frustration to PAL PS3 users (PS3s bought in Europe, UAE, etc.) when they felt stuck playing their nostalgic and favorite NTSC (US or JP) PS one Classics and listening to their audio with slowdowns. The observed cause of the frame rate slowdown is that a PAL PS3 forces NTSC 60 Hz games to run in PAL 50 Hz mode so the frame rate is reduced to 50 FPS instead of 60 FPS which also affects audio, making it sound like a movie or music track played in slow motion.
