External Connectors

The PS3 uses several types of common/standard connectors, with one proprietary connector for backwards compatibility (MultiAV).

Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-T (IEEE 802.3ab) 8P8C connector following TIA/EIA-568 wiring standards with support for Auto MDI-X, which means Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables can be used without the need for special crosscables.
