PS3 1000 series (fat) theory
<@sandungas> eussNL i just noticed an interesting detail about ps3 fat models letters <@sandungas> i noticed time ago, but im counting them and it matches fine <@sandungas> the point is ps3 fat models are "1000 series" <@sandungas> internally are named starting with 1000 <@sandungas> the proof is... <@sandungas> http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Namco_System_357#357A_.28GECR-1100.29_COK-002 <@sandungas> http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Namco_System_357#357B_.28GECR-1500.29_VER-001 <@sandungas> so... CECHCxx and CECHExx (with COK-002)... are "1100 series" <@sandungas> and... CECHLxx, CECHMxx, CECHPxx, CECHQxx (with VER-001)... are "1500 series" <@sandungas> CECHA and CECHB (with COK-001) are "1000 series" <@sandungas> etc... <@sandungas> count them here ---> http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Bluray_Drive#Bluray_Drive_Revisions <@sandungas> is by motherboard (and there are "only" 6 motherboards used in PS3 fat retail models) <@sandungas> COK-001 = 1000 <@sandungas> COK-002 = 1100 <@sandungas> SEM-001 = 1200 <@sandungas> DIA-001 = 1300 <@sandungas> DIA-002 = 1400 <@sandungas> VER-001 = 1500 <@sandungas> note how it matches with arcade models :) <@sandungas> also... DECR-1000... the mother of COK-001 = 1000 series <@sandungas> and DECR-1400... should be the mother of DIA-002 = 1400 series <@sandungas> also... in ps3 fat preproduction and prototypes always is used numbers... never letters A,B,C,D,E... etc... <@sandungas> example... <@sandungas> CBEH-B1104-B <--- this should be an "1100 series"... so based on COK-002 <@sandungas> DEH-FH1500A/J(-C) <---- and this one should be a "1500 series"... so based on VER-001
PS3 models letter codes talk
Model DEH-GH2000JS-D needs to be added to the list of units available.

- Does Mr. PixelButts know who bought it? lol
- Nope but I can ask. No idea if there will be success. -PB
- This is a little bit tricky but in my opinion, this isn't a true Prototype. It's a pre-production model from the DECH-20xx Debug series based on the CECH-20xx series. But yes, even those pre-poduction models shares the Prototype label on the back (like here and here - Roxanne (talk) - 10th april 2016 - 10:15 GMT+1
- The seller listed it as such, but I feel it should be in the Preproduction models
- The real problem we have is the simplification of the model types by retail/prototype/preproduction we use in wiki is not accurate enought, is obvious sony groups them based on the first letters of the model but the meaning of all the letters is not so obvious, for a good overall of all the letters used in PS3 the best way is to take a look at the index at top of SKU Models Nonretail page, i been thinking several times in making an small table with all the "ps3 model letter codes" known that could help a bit to make sense of all the letter meanings (and btw... it smells like something generic for all playstation consoles). For this specific model my oppinion is the DEH-GHxxxx models are derivated of DEH-Hxxxx models of the same series, are basically the same hardware and software but with some small changes related with EID/syscon (for derivated models, the fourth letter is mantained but is preceded by other letter). And if this theory is correct it means if a DEH-GH2000 exists (the one you found in ebay) then a DEH-H2000 exists too (not listed in wiki because nobody found info about it)
- The seller listed it as such, but I feel it should be in the Preproduction models
