More System Information (< 3.15)[edit | edit source]

  1. Hold down L Trigger + R Trigger + DPAD Left + Square for a couple seconds (5) then let go and press START
  2. Let go START and press SELECT to have it remain on display

More System Information (>= 3.15)[edit | edit source]

  1. Push Left Analog Stick Up
  2. Hold Left Analog Stick Down
  3. Hold R Trigger
  4. Press DPAD Up button
  5. Release Left Analog Stick Down
  6. Wait 5 seconds
  7. Release R Trigger
  8. Press Start and Select

Reset Vita Clock[edit | edit source]

Same as disconnecting battery, also useful if the console has locked-up

  1. Press and hold PS Button + POWER + START + SELECT

Right Dialog[edit | edit source]

The right dialog is included in SceShell, and effects every app packaged with Sony's Publishing Tools (psp2pubgen)
it's created by the 'right.suprx' file within app0:sce_sys/package, it is loaded into SceShell upon running this button combo;
to construct a copyright message, likely meant as a Copyright Trap

  1. Open "Information" dialog for any official SDK packaged app on the LiveSpace
  2. Press Triangle
  3. Press Square
  4. Press Select
  5. Press Start

- Note! You can actually crash SceShell if you attempt to close the right dialog before it has finished loading!

Take Screenshot[edit | edit source]

Takes a screenshot and saves it to the "Photos" app on the console.

  1. Hold Start + Select for a few seconds, anywhere

- This is documented inside the Photos app, if you have no screenshots and attempt to view screenshots,

Safe Mode[edit | edit source]

Launches the official recovery menu, at os0:/ue/safemode.self,
it contains options to format memory card, initialize settings, rebuild database, and update firmware
the "Update Firmware" option can be useful in recovering from a soft-brick.

Vita Handheld[edit | edit source]

  1. Hold Power + PS Button + R Trigger at bootup

PlayStation TV[edit | edit source]

  1. Keep holding Power at boot, until safe mode appears

Unique to the development hardware of the PlayStation Vita

Set Production Mode On for Prototype[edit | edit source]

  1. Hold Power + PS + Square + Cross + DPAD Up + DPAD Left at bootup
