Overview

Syscon handles power, LEDs, tray loading, front buttons and some thermal management. Syscon only exists on consoles up to the SCPH-39XXX series (GH-022 board). After that, it's functionality was overtaken by the new Dragon-MechaCon.

Hardware

Syscon is always a Toshiba TMP87C807U. It has a Mask-ROM of 8 Kilobytes (8 K x 8 bits) and a RAM of 256 Bytes (256 x 8 bits).
