RSPSARDUMPER is a PSARDUMPER developed by Red Squirrel. Based off M33's and _HellDashX_'s PSARDUMPER, it allows the dumping and decryption of all firmware eboots released from Sony. An added standout feature added in this homebew is the ability to dump and decrypt the eboots over USB. Meaning that the dump will be operated on the PSP, but the files will be left on the computer. The latest version of RSPSARDUMPER is v3.5.

Among the standard features of all PSAR dumpers, RSPSARDUMPER has became the standard of all dumpers since version 3.80 and 3.90. With the ability to decrypt, dump firmware files, it also allows the use of usbhostfs. This allows interaction between a computer of sorts, and allows the decryption and dumping process to take place on the PC as opposed to all previous dumpers being operated on the PSP. However, to initiate and use this process, the PSP is required to activate usbhostfs mode and choose how to dump the eboot. If a person does not have access to a PC, the dump can still be made using the memory stick.

Advantages[edit | edit source]

The main advantages in using PSAR Dumper is that it can decrypt firmware eboots past 3.80 since M33 no longer updates their official PSAR Dumper and _HellDashX_ only developing a 3.80 dumper. Also, speeds in which the files are dumped are increased significantly, thus making RSPSARDUMPER one of the fastest to dump/decrypt files. However, this is slowed down as the memory stick gets older. Using the usbhostfs mode with RSPSARDUMPER allows for even more significant speed increases than when dumping to the memory stick due to the fact that the files are being stored on a hard drive. With tests, RSPSARDUMPER can fully dump and decrypt the 1.50 eboot in seconds using the usbhostfs mode.

Development[edit | edit source]

As of version 3.5, Red Squirrel has stopped working on this homebrew, but has opened up the homebrew for modifications for future firmwares by any developers. (Mostly the way this has been going on when a new firmware was released by Sony)

Incompatibility[edit | edit source]

As of version 3.5, usbhostfs will not connect to the PSP on 4.01 M33.
